Why We Couldn’t Film

     Hello! This past week was Thanksgiving break which supposed to be a time for us to film for our movie. We were gonna film on the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, we weren’t able to film because Alex was out of town and we needed her since she has a big role in the movie. We need to readjust our schedule for filming now since she wasn’t here. This effects our entire schedule because now we need to push back the dates that we were gonna edit our film. We also need to find a new date to film. We want to do it on a weekend so that we are not busy with school. This means that I need to find a weekend where I don’t have to go to work. If I do end up having to work this weekend, hopefully it will be in the morning so that we can film when I get off of work. We also need to film on a weekend soon because another member of my group will be out and won’t be able to film. When in doubt we can still film over winter break. That may be really stressful for us though because we would have to cram a lot of work into those days and some of us may be out of town on winter vacation. 

   Even though we couldn’t film over the break, we still were productive. We picked out music for our movie. We also came up with some new ideas that may make our movie easier to film. We also began posting some things on our social media accounts. On Instagram we posted a picture of a mirror with a creepy caption saying “seeing is believing”. We posted another very similar picture on our Twitter account as well. We still need to spice up our actual website though because it’s pretty bland. But for now my biggest job is fixing our schedule. 

Choosing Music

     Hello! Today my group and I chose the music and discussed other sounds for our film. Since the movie that we are creating is a horror movie, we want to use more creepy and scary sounding songs. We need to find songs that have a creepy connotation to them so that we can easily set the the correct tone of the film. We also need to choose songs that have the correct energy for certain scenes. By this I mean that we need to find songs that are loud and fast paced for scenes with high action such as some of the death scenes and chase scenes. And we need to find songs that are more slow and mysterious and ominous for scenes of suspense. Due this week being busy with Thanksgiving, my group and I weren’t really able to get together and research music so we all did it separately and then texted each other songs that we liked. One artist that we were considering using in our film was Rob Zombie. Rob Zombie has created many creepy hard rock songs that could fit into our film. His music was also in multiple other films such as Bride of Chucky and House of 1000 Corpses. We think that some if his songs would be a perfect fit for our film. We still need to email him about using his songs in our film before we download them.

   My group and I also discussed sounds that we would like to put in our film. When we film outside we want to add more nature sounds such as and owl hooting or crickets chirping. We also may need to pre-record some sounds such as screams to that they show up better in the film. We are still researching some songs that are more slow in rhythm and have a more mysterious, creepy tone to them. For this we may just go on YouTube and search up songs and then convert them to a MP3 file as a sound. For these songs, we want to have a lot of pianos and violins playing because we think that this instruments have more creepy sounds to them. We still need to send emails allowing us to use these songs. In order for us to do that we might have to ask our teacher how to correctly and appropriately send an email to a musician when asking for a song because we never learned how. We also don’t want to come across as rude. 

Creating Our Website

    Hello! Today my group and I created our website for our movie “Possessed?“. Along with this we also created social media to go with our movie. The social media platforms that we used are Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Since there are four of us in the group and four social media accounts to control, we all decided that we each control one social media account. I created the YouTube account. For this I will probably post teasers and trailers for our movie. Ava created the Instagram account, she will most likely just post creepy pictures with scary captions in order to hype audiences up for our movie. Morgan created the Facebook account and Alex created the Twitter account. They will do the same job as Ava to hype up audiences for our film. They will do this by posting scary, ominous pictures and writing creepy captions to go along with the picture. We want to post pictures that are relevant to our film such as creepy mirrors or jack o lanterns to represent Halloween.  The main thing that we all want to do with social media’s is to share information about our movie such as release dates and the actors starring in the film. We also want to hype audiences get them excited for our film. Alex created the website for our film by using Wix.com. The purpose for our website is to help audiences get more informed about our movie. We will be sharing the actors and actresses that will be starring in the film along with other crew members. We will also be sharing some of the plot of the movie but we will avoid any spoilers and just give a quick synopsis of the film. We also added links to all of our social media accounts in our website so that audiences can access them easily. We haven’t really created a good set up for our website. We still need to add pictures that make the website more ominous and scary so we can give off the suspenseful and creepy vibe that we want. Once we finally have our website finished we will most likely begin to film. 

Storyboard for “Possessed?”

   This is the storyboard for the movie that my group and I are creating called "Possessed?" The movie is about a group of friends who enter a haunted house on Halloween night and when one of them gets possessed, the group needs to figure out how to stay alive. My group and I all helped in creating this storyboard where we just split up the scenes. Alex did the first three pages which shows the group enter the haunted house and the friend getting possessed. Ava drew the scenes where the possessed friend murders another member of the group. I did the scenes where Jake and Morgan discover the mirror and Jake dies. And Morgan did the final scene where she stops the possessed friend. I am very exited to begin filming this movie.

Location

Health & Safety

During this difficult time, the group has put in extra precautions to ensure the safety of all who are going to be involved. When traveling from locations, the cast and crew of the movie will always be safely in seatbelts. We will also be sure to not use actual weapons and replace then with  fake knifes from Party City. Not to mention, in light of this global pandemic, each cast member and crew mate will have masks on and will be quarantined in advanced, to ensure that no one has the deadly virus. Lastly, the we will always have a first aid kit and a phone ready in case of any emergencies.
